Food Access

Seminole Dining is passionate about serving our community and increasing food access. We have several programs and initiatives in place that help us do just that. We partner with the Food Recovery Network to redistribute surplus food from Seminole Dining locations to campus and community organizations. Donations include various items like canned and dried goods, retail items, and individually packaged ready-to-heat meals from our dining halls. This partnership enables us to repurpose surplus food, reduce waste, and contribute to addressing food insecurity in our community. We are proud to have donated over 4,000 pounds of food to the community since May 2023.

Fuel Your Fellow Nole

Through our Fuel Your Fellow Nole program, students can donate one or all of their guest meal swipes each semester to help food insecure students on campus. Donated swipes go to the Food for Thought Pantry who has identified students in need to give swipes to.

If you would like to donate, complete this survey, and tell us how many guest swipes you want to donate. We will need your name and EMPLID, so please include that information in your email.

Each semester we run a month-long Fuel Your Fellow Nole promotional campaign. Seminole Dining matches all donations received during the months of the promo, doubling impact in the fight against food insecurity on campus.

Round Up for FSU

Small change, big impact! Round Up for FSU is an initiative launched by Florida State University’s Office of Business Services dedicated to fostering a culture of philanthropy and community engagement. Through FSU Round Up, students can "round up" their purchases in increments of twenty-five cents (25¢) at participating campus locations, with the change going to support the Food for Thought Pantry. This innovative program empowers students to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others in their community.

SNAP/EBT

In an on-going effort to reduce food insecurity on campus, Seminole Dining accepts SNAP/EBT funds at the Provisions on Demand C-Store in the Honors, Scholars, and Fellows building and at the Trading Post C-Store in the FSU Student Union. Accepting SNAP on campus is part of our Be Well. Do Well. platform which encourages the prosperity of both people and planet.  

Students can use SNAP/EBT funds on any eligible food item that is not sold hot. This includes cereal, bottled water/juice, fruit, grab-and-go, iced coffee, milk, chips, and frozen meals. Eligible items will have a nutrition label, not a supplemental label. Hygiene and household items are not eligible for SNAP purchases.
