Meal Plan FAQs

WHAT IS A MEAL PLAN?

A Meal Plan unlocks delicious meals, coffee, snacks, and more at 30 locations across campus. Your Meal Plan includes Meal Swipes, Dining Dollars, Guest Meal Swipes, a reusable Ozzi to-go container, and a Cash Equivalency Meal Swipe Exchange function.  Your Meal Plan is conveniently loaded onto your FSUCard. No need to carry additional cards or cash!

AM I REQUIRED TO HAVE A MEAL PLAN?

While it is not mandated that commuters or students living on-campus have a meal plan, it is greatly encouraged for its convenience and value.

WHAT IS THE DEADLINE TO SIGN UP FOR A MEAL PLAN?

Students may sign up for a meal plan at any time; however, meal plan charges are not prorated and the student will be charged the full price of the meal plan regardless of how late in the semester the plan is ordered.

HOW DO I SIGN UP?

Meal Plans can be purchased at seminoledining.campusdish.com. Click on “Meal Plans” from the menu categories, and you’ll see the plan options categorized by semester. Select your desired plan and “Add to Cart.”

HOW DO I FIND MY EMPLID NUMBER?

The 9-Digit EMPLID number is found online through the my.fsu.edu portal under My Profile in the myFSU Identity Management section or under My Info, which is found on the right-hand side upon login.

HOW DO I PAY FOR MY MEAL PLAN?

Your meal plan will be billed to your myFSU account and can be viewed and paid online at https://apps.its.fsu.edu/Fees/Fees.html

DOES MY FINANCIAL AID COVER MEAL PLANS?

Most financial aid can be used to pay for Meal Plan charges; however, priority is given to Tuition and Housing fees first.  Contact Student Finance to find out if Meal Plans are eligible under your specific financial aid and if so how much is available after Tuition and Housing to be applied towards Meal Plans.

CAN I ACCESS/USE MY MEAL PLAN EVEN IF THE BILL IS OUTSTANDING/NOT PAID IN MYFSU STUDENT FINANCIALS?

Yes!

WHY CAN’T I SEE MY PLAN IN MYFSU STUDENT FINANCIALS?

It typically takes Student Finance 3-5 business days to apply a Meal Plan charge to a student’s myFSU account after a Meal Plan order is completed.  The student may still access their Meal Plan even if the charge is not yet showing on their myFSU account.

CAN I CHARGE MY DINING DOLLAR PURCHASE TO MY TUITION BILL?

Meal Plans are charged to your student account. Any Dining Dollars that are a part of your meal plan will be included in this charge. Dining Dollar purchases in addition to or separately from a meal plan cannot be charged to a student’s myFSU account and must be paid for at the time of purchase on our web site.

WILL MY MEAL PLAN AUTOMATICALLY RENEW FOR THE NEXT SEMESTER?

Meal Plans are a contract for the academic year (Fall- Spring). The plan amount will be billed to your FSU student account in both the Fall and Spring semesters. Summer plans do not renew.  Spring plans do not renew. Fall/Spring plans must be re-purchased each Fall.

CAN I CHANGE MY MEAL PLAN?

Students may downgrade or cancel a meal plan up until the last day before residence halls open/meal plans begin.  Upgrades can be done at any time before or after a meal plan begins.

WILL MY DINING DOLLARS EXPIRE?

Any unused Dining Dollars will roll over each semester until graduation or separation from the University. Dining Dollars are non-transferrable and non-refundable.

HOW DO I RELOAD MY DINING DOLLARS?

Student Dining Dollars can be purchased at any time HERE

HOW DO I CHECK THE BALANCE OF MY MEAL SWIPES AND DINING DOLLARS?

Meal Plan swipes and dining dollar information, along with transaction history on both, can be found by logging into your eAccount.

SHOULD I GET A MEAL PLAN IF I PLAN TO JOIN OR AM IN A SORORITY?

We do recommend pairing a campus meal plan with the sorority meal plan for several reasons: Sororities typically provide meals twice a day, Monday through Thursday, at specific times of the day at the sorority house.  Having a campus meal plan allows the student access to an expanded variety of food throughout campus for ease between classes and extracurriculars at any time.

HOW DOES THE OZZI TO-GO CONTAINER WORK?

Meal plan holders will receive one container per semester to use and reuse at our residential dining locations. To get your OZZI container, let the cashier at either Suwannee Room or Seminole Café know that you would like to redeem your OZZI swipe. They will instruct you to swipe your card, and then they will hand you your OZZI container.  Bring the used container back to one of the dining halls for a new token. To receive a new container, present your OZZI token to the cashier who will hand over a clean container and to-go cup.

WHAT IS ROUNDUP?

Round Up for FSU gives guests at specific campus retail locations the opportunity to "Round Up" their purchases with an additional quarter ($0.25). The difference is automatically donated to the FSU Food for Thought Student Pantry. Round Up is conducted solely on a voluntary basis, and only applies to point-of-sale purchases with credit, debit, or Dining Dollars.

WHAT ARE MEAL SWIPES?

Meal Swipes give you access to our all-you-care-to-eat dining halls, Suwannee Room and Seminole Café. As a part of our efforts to provide variety, flexibility, and convenience, you may also exchange one meal swipe per day for a cash equivalency swipe, worth a value of $7, at select retail locations on campus.

WHERE CAN I USE MY DINING DOLLARS?

Dining Dollars may be used at any of the following locations:

Suwannee Room, Seminole Café, 4 Rivers Smokehouse, Argo Tea, Bento Sushi at 1851, Brooklyn Pizza, Chick-fil-A, C.O.E Café, The Den, Doctor's Inn, Einstein Bros. Bagels, Jolt Café. Legal Provisions, Pollo Tropical, Panda Express, Panera Bread, Provisions on Demand, Proof at FSU, Shake Smart, Starbucks Dirac, Starbucks Strozier, Starbucks at the Union, Halal Shack, Subway, Tally Mac Shack at 1851, Three Torches, Trading Post, Joe Mama's at 1851, and Vato Tacos at 1851.

WHAT IS A CASH EQUIVALENCY MEAL SWIPE EXCHANGE?

This allows the student to exchange one dining hall meal swipe per day for a $7 cash equivalency to be applied towards a meal at selected campus retail locations (the four Starbucks locations and all Convenience Store locations do not accept cash equivalency exchanges). If the total transaction is more than $7.00, the remaining balance can be paid with another form of payment including Dining Dollars, FSUCash, or credit card.

WHAT ARE GUEST MEAL SWIPES?

All dining plans include three (3) guest swipes per semester in addition to the total allotted meals that are already included in the dining plan. Guest swipes may be used for a friend or family member at either of the two dining halls (Suwannee Room and Seminole Cafe). The dining plan holder whose name appears on the corresponding FSUCard must be present to redeem the guest swipe. The dining plan holder should alert the cashier if they intend to use a guest swipe. Up to three (3) guest swipes per semester may be donated to the FSU Food for Thought Pantry HERE. Any unused guest swipes at the end of each semester will be forfeited and will not roll over to the next semester.

CAN I ORDER MY FOOD ONLINE USING MY MEAL PLAN?

Seminole Dining offers Mobile Ordering at select locations through the Transact Mobile Ordering App.
